Same shop, same street, since 1994
Started by a guitarist who couldn't find anyone in town to fix his neck reset. Thirty-two years later, we're still on Middle Road, still fixing things.
A shop built by players, for players
In 1994, Michael Ong opened a narrow unit in Midlink Plaza with eleven guitars, one workbench and a hand-painted sign. He was a session guitarist who was tired of shipping instruments overseas for repair, so he learned to do it himself — and then did it for everyone else too.
His daughter Amanda now runs the floor. The workbench is still there, only now there are three of them, plus six teaching rooms upstairs and a consignment wall that half the gigging musicians in Singapore have used at some point.
What hasn't changed: nobody works on commission, nothing is behind glass, and if the $299 guitar is the right one for you, that's the one we'll hand you. We'd rather have you back in ten years than sell you up today.
instruments have left this shop and gone into living rooms, school bands, church halls, void-deck jams and stages across Singapore. A good number of them come back for a setup every year, which is exactly how we like it.
Our staff earn the same whether you buy the $299 or the $4,800. So the advice is just advice.
A badly set-up guitar makes beginners quit. We won't sell one that fights you.
